This is the second post devoted to my review of Geoff Stray's Beyond 2012 -- Catastrophe or Awakening? In the previous post I covered a number of topics in which I have varying degrees of interest. However, in this post I get to delve into areas which are near and dear to my heart....one of which is remote viewing.
Remote viewing, or RV, is defined as, "...the ability to gather information about a distant or unseen target...." using something other than our usual senses. It can be thought of as a type of psychic ability but one employed under very strict, "scientific" conditions. My own experiences with RV have been totally mind boggling and I will describe them at some later point, but right now let's just look at the 2012 aspect according to Stray.
Possibly of most interest, Stray cites a web site (now defunct) which reported that remote viewers have not been able to see anything after 2012, positing that "...humanity's perception of time will no longer be so 'linear and absolute' " after that point. He then goes on to note what Ed Dames, a leading authority on RV, called a "block" or "discontinuity" when it comes to viewing 2012 and beyond:
Remote viewers run up against a point where things change dramatically and globally....we have a working hypothesis...that time changes. That there is an event that is global, that something happens to the world that makes all the event timelines change.
Dames goes on to say that it "seems to be a spiritual event that happens at one point in time, and affects all subsequent experience...you've leapt into a different event trajectory, a differing time...parallel time, if you will." (Note: Much of this information came out during an Art Bell broadcast in 1997. Apparently the full transcript is no longer available online but there is a partial transcript here.)
[Quite an interesting assertion, but I should quickly note that other remote viewers have apparently not encountered this "discontinuity", e.g, see the results of work by Courtney Brown or Cynthia Sue Larson. This is definitely a topic that will merit further discussion.]
The earliest work regarding near death experiences (NDE's) was done by Raymond Moody, Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, Ken Ring, and others. It is a fascinating field that I have followed since its inception in the mid-70's and I hope to explore more fully in later posts. But for now, let's just look at what Stray has to report.
He starts off by citing an NDE that Cassandra Musgrave had in 1992 in which she saw a period of "great Earth changes" occurring between then and 2012, including "three days of darkness," possibly precipitated by a volcanic eruption.
Likewise, in 1975 Dannion Brinkley saw many scenes of calamity occurring in the years leading up to 2012, including an "electromagnetic polar Earth shift," but he also saw spiritual consciousness growing in "leaps and bounds." And between 2011 and 2012 he saw us experiencing "the return of an energy system that existed here a long time ago. You can call it...the Second Coming, or the birth of the Aquarian Age."
P.M.H. Atwater, is a prolific researcher and writer in the field who herself has experienced three NDE's. In a study of NDE's in children she encountered a number of reports of earth changes culminating in 2012, which she interpreted as not only the start of the Fifth World of the Maya, but the first manifestation of our next "evolutionary stage."
In a similar vein, a woman only identified as "Jackie" saw that NDE experiencers were to "pave the way for the consciousness revolution that will transmute our planet, beginning in 2012." And a woman named "Linda" reportedly saw "future events like Earth changes, a breakthrough in physics and a consciousness change near 2012." Happily, "She didn't see the end of the world, just changes."
