My friend Baba has considerable psychic ability and, if asked, he is sometimes willing to look into the future. What he sees isn't always necessarily 100% accurate but it always has merit, so I, of course, was very interested in his take on 2012.
I posed the question for him during my visit in June, 2008. As usual, his answer was very long and discursive, eventually winding around to the answer.....which was......he doesn't see much changing in 2012.
I wasn't too surprised at this because just a few days earlier we had been discussing, at his urging, my next incarnation. Nothing he had said about my coming lifetime (which we covered in some detail) seemed to indicate any significant change in the state of the world in the foreseeable future.
In his response to my direct question regarding 2012 he said that while there would be increased incidents of earth changes (e.g., earthquakes, floods, volcanic eruptions) the uptick would be relatively minor and would not constitute any real threat to the continuance of the world as we know it. While he noted that there are many, many other planets hosting intelligent life in the galaxy, he does not see them openly and publicly visiting us in the foreseeable future. Likewise, he didn't appear to see any dramatic change in global consciousness or spiritual awareness.
I have to admit, it was a bit of a downer. I was, of course, happy at his take on coming earth changes but in my heart of hearts I would very much like for us to receive some much needed benevolent assistance from "elsewhere." And I am sincerely hoping for at least a dramatic increase in global consciousness, if not the Ascension to a higher dimension that has been prophesied by many.
In December of 2008, several months after my visit with Baba, I went to see Hank Friedman, a well-known and highly respected Bay Area astrologer and psychic.
During a typical session Hank himself initially "reads" for the client, and then at some point he turns the session over to his "guides," at which point their words are channeled through him. I had a number of personal questions that I posed for Hank and his guides, and I felt that his/their responses were spot on. It was probably the best, most useful and accurate reading I ever had.
So I was very, very curious to see what the guides had to say about 2012. The exact wording of my question to them was, "Much has been written about 2012, ascension, earth changes, first contact . What do you see coming to pass in the coming years in these regards?" (As background, I had earlier mentioned that my friend Baba didn't see much in the way of change occurring.)
They opened by saying that, to my chagrin, in regards to 2012 the future was "unspecified." They said that there were so many tributaries, turning points, possibilities, and huge fluctuations looming that it was impossible to say, at that point in late 2008, what was going to happen in 2012. They noted that the human race was being called upon to awaken, to take more responsibility on many levels and that, consequently, the next few years would be crucial in terms of determining the eventual outcome.
They said that the things that I had read about were possible paths........but there were other possible paths, too. For example, the Earth could become "disqualified forever" if it became toxic enough. The future held a huge range of possibilities, from "nightmarish to beyond the Golden Age" and they had long since "given up trying to predict what humans would do" because "you people constantly surprise us."
But they were, in general, positive, in part, they said, because "many beings from many levels" were working to keep Earth on track. In addition, there were "more earthlings wanting to take responsibility" now than before. So in general things were "steering in the right direction, not the wrong direction."
They went on to say that global destruction of human life on earth did not look like a high probability, placing it very reassuringly at less than 5%.
They said that those individuals (and here they really cracked me up, saying, by way of example, "like that one Zen guy,") who see nothing happening in terms of alien contact or giant earth changes are simply seeing just one of the possible paths, albeit possibly the more central one.
They said that First Contact was a "bestowal," one that, like winning an Oscar, had to be earned by the human race. This was because with First Contact comes "many cures for many ills," including new forms of energy, the resolution of many diseases, and the balancing of the earth's magnetosphere. They were very clear that "humans have to merit it for that level of intervention to take place." And it was not yet clear whether or not we would earn it.
In closing, they acknowledged that they were not actually in a position to pass on very much to me but said that they were often not given even that much information to share, as it depended on the soul they were talking to. (I should note, parenthetically, that their initial greeting to me at the very outset of the session had been an extremely warm, and apparently unprecedented, "Hello, old friend," so I was decidedly in their good graces from the get go.)
Looking back at their responses I suppose I am most heartened by their assertion that global destruction was highly unlikely, that we were generally headed in the right direction and that there was at least the possibility for our achieving something "beyond the Golden Age."
Taken as a whole their response seemed to fully support Tami Simon's contention that "The future is in our hands."

So, there you have it. That's two takes on 2012. Stay tuned......in the posts ahead we will be looking at a variety of other points of view.
